I'm leaving soon! In fact, I'll be heading out of Springfield tomorrow. I have an internship up in Normal, Illinois for the summer. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time. I think what I am most afraid of is just being there by myself. The job itself doesn't scare me too much. I'm looking forward to working hard and making some money.
So what am I going to do when I'm not working? I have some ideas. The first is this gigantic stack of books that has been building up on my dresser over the past school year. I want to read or finish reading ALL OF THEM.

This isn't even all of them.... |

Speaking of books, I did recently finish reading the first three books of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I read the original one a long time ago, close to when it was first released, but never read any of the others. I didn't even think of it at first, but I really feel like them this year. We are all going in different directions this summer, to different places, and some friends are even leaving the country. Maybe it never occurred to me before since I was never the one to leave. I've always been in St. Louis. It's weird to think that I won't be seeing everyone this summer. Maybe it is because we have gotten so close that the separation is more painful now.
Back to things I plan to do. I was recently given a large amount of VHSs by my friend Logan, and even more recently I was given a TV and a VCR/DVD player from my friend Tabitha. Obviously putting the two together I plan to watch some movies. That will be especially nice in July and August when it's a billion degrees outside. If you hadn't heard, this summer is going to be hot. At least, that's what they are saying. Then again, what do they know? They said last summer was going to be mild!

Note: Do not Google "really hot" in photos. Unless that sort of thing is what you are looking for. |
Finally, besides the two online classes I have, I plan to blog! I am imitating what many of my friends and peers have done when they have gone away, but flattery? I'm hoping for about two times a week, but we will see how things go. If right now is any indication, I will probably be blogging when I should be doing something else. Like, right now, I should be packing.
I hope everyone is doing awesome and great things this summer. I'm already sad about some of the things I'm missing out on, like youth camp, and VBS, and road tripping. But I hope doing this internship will get me ahead and give me good experience for my career.
